tea and roses

Today's tea is a Siberian Rose tea from the Vital Tea Leaf in Seattle
I had the pleasure of wandering into their shop last week where I enjoyed an informal tea tasting.
This rose tea was my favorite .... they had a wonderful ginger tea too.
It was really fun - if you're ever in Seattle it's in the south end of the Public Market on Pike Place.

Below, is a picture of rose petals I've laid out to dry.
I wish you could smell them!
The roses were:
Jude the Obscure
Abraham Darby
and Evelyn.

I think of Evelyn as "the other woman."
Sometimes The Sweet Husband comes in from the garden saying,
"Oh, Evelyn, she smells so good today!"

Please also visit the tea blogs listed in the sidebar to see what they are up to "tea-wise"

What a beautiful tea today, Kimmie! I can almost smell the soft fragrance of those beautiful roses. The doily that you've used for your setting is so lovely - reminds me of several that my Grandmother made. Hugs, Terri xoxo

Lovely table setting and so inviting. Makes me want to come for tea!

We will be in Seattle in July...exploring all the sights. Any suggestions for places to see fiber art perhaps or mixed media art or cool watercolors?

What a pleasant way to take a break! Wonderful names of those roses. I'll bet the "other woman" is quite beautiful.

Best,
Bonnie

The ROSE tea sounds wonderful, do you think Evelyn could be in the mix?!

I'm a big fan of the old heritage roses and also of David Austen's new/old ones.

Come and visit me sometime Kimmie and I'll get out my pretty teacups and make you very welcome!

Lovely sweet T post this week Kimmie ... grins on your dh's remarks ... rose oil is one of my favorite scents to wear ... although it's been too hot this week to add that!
Thank you for T Tuesdays ... I look forward to them!

Rose buds are my favorite. I don't much care for roses once they are in full bloom. Yours are really beautiful, just what I would love to touch and smell.

You have set a lovely service today. I'm in awe of that cup. The tea is so pale, I almost missed it.

One of my favorite places in Seattle (yes, more than the Space Needle and the Red Hook Brewery) was the Public Market. I was really taken by that place, since there is nothing anywhere close to it in Kansas.

Thanks for a lovely tea post and beautiful roses this Tuesday evening.

I think Evelyn is in a menage a trois with Abraham and Jude so you dont have to worry to much about the sweet husband.

I have tasted rose tea, although maybe not that particular one. so light and fragrent.
