flower tea

a friend sent me some flowering teas
this is what they look like before steeping:

in the package is an assortment of four flowering teas from Numi Tea
dragon lily
flower jewel
emerald sun
&
midnight peony

the one I chose for today is "flower jewel"
it's a White Tea scented with jasmine and amaranth flower
I'm drinking it now - and it's really quite delicious
very grassy like a green tea - but flowery too - it's nice

I thought you might like to see some more flowers
... flowers of the garden variety
:)

it's beginning to feel like summer around here
I really felt it when I said, "not until you've had your breakfast, made your bed and gotten dressed."

Summertime,
And the livin' is easy
Fish are jumpin'
And the cotton is high

Oh, Your daddy's rich
And your mamma's good lookin'
So hush little baby
Don't you cry
[ Lyrics from: http://www.lyricsmode.com/lyrics/g/george_gershwin/summertime.html ]
One of these mornings
You're going to rise up singing
Then you'll spread your wings
And you'll take to the sky

But until that morning
There's a'nothing can harm you
With your daddy and mammy standing by

- George Gershwin

I've never ever seen a tea come in that form. How interesting and how pretty when it opens up in the water! Glad it was delicious too.

Your roses are so pretty with big close up shots and colors!!!

Happy summer!

What a lovely warm, flowery post...I needed that, so cold and wet here. Love the look and sound or your tea, the little bud looks very pretty dry and a bit 'alien' after being brewed. Oh to have some lovely roses out, these look beautiful, all I have are thorns and sticks at the moment. Enjoy your wonderful warm weather. xx

I wanted to bury my hose in those photos -- and feel the soft petals. So, so gorgeous!

I love tea blossoms, they look wonderful and smell great... I have had some that are so delicious and then others have little taste, but they are always such a joy to watch unfurl... and your photos are a joy that's for sure... such gorgeous colours... I have doubled up on my tea post this week sorry... next week will be back to normal...
happy tea day...xx

Yours bloomed similar to mine, but your photos were so much more pleasing. However, my blooming tea tasted like dirt. I found nothing pleasing about it at all, other than the delight at seeing it blossom. Glad yours came in different flavors and designs. Have a great tea today. I REALLY missed you last week (both literally and figuratively).

Yikes! I'm so glad I was too busy yesterday to post. I thought it was Tuesday all day long. Turns out today is Tuesday. :/ I'm happy to see that you have found time to slow down. that tea looks wonderful! I have one of those flowering teas somewhere that I've yet to try. Must find it. Hope you have a great rest of the week. Tammy

Watching them unfurl is magical! A glass pot is a must for these. Can you imagine how much time it must take to put one of these together by hand!
The flowers are brilliant and delicate. Just lovely.
Now you've got me wondering in what old movie I first heard that song. ;)

I've never tried tea such as that. Do you leave the flower sitting in it as you drink?? I'd think not...at least I know I couldn't.
Beautiful floral pix!
