moving targets

while my afternoon tea was steeping,
I went out into the chilly and cloudy day to see what was out there

it's only 55 degrees today so the bees are sleepy

I found 4 different bees on 4 different flowers

they were moving slow in this cool air, so getting them to pose for me wasn't too hard

back inside:
my other "moving target" has to be caught completely unaware

"mom, what are you doing?"

"taking a picture of these cool reflections in the flower vase and my tea mug"

gotcha!

*

what are you capturing today?

The sun poured into my bedroom this evening, so I captured that and will probably post sometime tomorrow. I also did a weird self-portrait. I think you should do one -- have you ever?

Amazing photos... cold and windy and awful here and I was hoping it would be warm and wonderful and I could bask in the loveliness... maybe next week...
happy Tea day

Great post Kimmie! I was loving the cool, cloudy air today! I too, took some photos of bees in the garden...will do a post soon. Everyday since I've been here, I see something different and I feel blessed!

Winters certainly arrived here in Melbourne...mustn't complain though as it doesn't compare with a UK winter.
Well not yet anyway!
Stay warm and cosy Kimmie :D

Again, I compliment you on your awesome photos. You have captured these moving targets so well.

I envy you your lovely weather. That's my kind of temps. It was about 95 F here yesterday, so I would gladly trade you. I'm out the door to hopefully get some great shots of a sculpture I read about in another town not far from here today. I hope the weather gets better for you today, if you like it warm.

Here's my tea post:

I've been reading back to the past posts I've missed. The sink of flowers was soooooo pretty, smashing flowers, dropping petals, adorable portrait of your daughter....and now slow bees. I'm glad I got to stop by today! I hope your summer is going well!

I love watching the bees so busy at work.
Nice capture on your girl. Mine is either hamming it up and trying to get in every photo or avoiding like the black plague. :)

Foxgloves are one of my favorite flowers! I heard about Tea on Tuesday and I am visiting for the first time. Gorgeous pictures!

Hi Kimmie, as usual, it is late here again ... so tomorrow I will do my visiting. It's already past my bedtime. My boys don't like me taking pictures of them anymore. Even Jingles turns her head so I have to sneak photos from a distance. :) Wishing you a wonderful day. Tammy P.S. I wish I had some pretty petals to pound.

Beautiful post Kimmie, a joy to share. Your photos are stunning.
Today I'm running around trying to "capture" all I need for my trip to Germany to see my precious ones. Now I've just heard that the airport is running out of fuel due to a pipeline problem so I may be delayed. Fingers crossed I'll get there but no artistic capturing today.
