frost here, fog there

this morning we woke up to a coating of frost on everything

I was out with my camera as soon as there was enough daylight

and then after the early morning drop offs at school and the bus stop
I went out to the valley to see the fog

fog gives everything a softness

and what little color there is
is laid gently against a canvas of mist

in my home
there has been lots of thankfulness these last five days
and now this particular mom is thankful for the return of our regular routine

(exclamation point)

your images are exquisite - I too was up early with the fog and frost - but instead I saw the moon in all its gauzy glory...and me with no camera!

Wow gorgeous Kimmie, what is it about that frost that is soooooo appealing and with the fog too it looks surreal. xox

!

My boys have not been in school for six days, and tomorrow I will report my own exclamations!

Those photos are beautiful -- strangely, we've had quite a bit of fog around here although no frost.

The frost photos look like pieces of velvet! I love it~~ I love to be out early on a foggy morning, too. Very soft, like nature has a secret to tell.

Your creative eye is fantastic! Love the very simple idea of photographing the fog and the mood it leaves us with. So sweet!

Such beautiful photos ! We are sweltering here at the moment, so these gorgeous photos of frost and cool, fresh mist are a welcome relief. I do love a good fog, I'm such a winter girl. Stay warm. xx

I apologize that I've not been to visit lately. I finally poked my head out of my basement studio for a short visit.

I've always contended that fog is one of the hardest things to recreate on film. Real film, even. I even tried once using my sick camera, with very limited success. Your fog shows perfectly. I'm super impressed with your camera skills AND your photographic ability. Way to go!!

I am in LOVE with these images you have taken in the fog. Will they be offered on your ETSY spot? I hope everything is OK. We, too, have had some crazy weeks with Bill being in the hospital. He is mending nicely.
