The root is the most powerful medicinal part, but one wouldn't want to disturb that. All parts are medicinal to an extent. Can't wait to hear how it turns out.
i enjoy seeing this view of the cone flowers...cone easier to spell....but I do enjoy the tea. have a wonderful day! Peace, Mary Helen Fernandez Stewart
I've been reading the Mountain Rose Herbfarm blog and how to make tinctures. It's so fascinating! I will be using the roots as well ... The Gardening Husband has said that he's taking out the purple cone flowers but leaving the white ones this year :(
I took a class a long time ago on how to make tinctures and I just thought all of it was so interesting. The class was given by a Native American man and we used mostly wild native plants. The coneflowers are so pretty!

Who'd have thought they'd look so beautiful just hanging around upside down!
Now that's cool!

Interesting, when I first got started with herbs/tinctures etc I ordered stuff from Mountain Rose. Have fun with it all.

making your own tinctures sounds exciting
Happy July!
