sight seeing

we ventured out into the rainy weather to see the tulips up north

this year is an especially beautiful one
the cold weather and added rain is just what the tulips love
- it's like sunshine from the ground up -

and of course, I have to stop and look at the barns
they are so weathered and lonesome out there - I feel compelled to honor their existence

this shop window captured my eyes and my heart too

and how many school days has this old school bell announced to not so eager children?

and after a day like this, I have to come home with treasures of my own

a favorite book series:

some nostalgia in painted metal and glass:

and a bit of the glory that drew us outdoors today:

what sights have your eyes seen this weekend?

Fields and fields of beautiful tulips. My tulips have been eaten by squirrels and the deer. Thank you for sharing. Beauty lives here. Peace, Mary Helen Fernandez Stewart

I've never seen fields of tulips in person. It looks like a painted landscape. So pretty. The vintage painted lids and jars a super fun as well.

So beautiful! We haven't been out there yet, but got to see the tulip festival in Woodburn Oregon once. Looks like you had a nice time! Sunshine is on it's way this week! Take care. :-)

I don't seem to have the overabundance of tulips I had last year. Of course, our weird weather (hard freezes twice this past week) has probably been a factor. I adore the flowers you took, though. They are like a field of sunshine.

I would be attracted to that window, too. You have some awesome antiques where you live, including that barn (grin).

Have a super Earth Day. Sorry I missed joining you for tea around your kitchen table Thursday.

OOPS. That should read the photos of flowers. My mind is racing faster than my fingers can type.

Beautiful tulips! Such rich colors. We have a wildflower seed farm that has big fields of color like that. There is nothing like flowers to put a smile on your face.
Love the bell.
I've been busy looking for beauty in this drought of ours.

Your eyes are drawn to the same things as mine, flowers, colors, old barns(husband thinks I am nuts), and all vintage kitchen items! Love your pics!

Nothing as beautiful as all of that. Mostly clouds and rain but I do see beauty in the sky. It just hasn't had an ounce of color lately. Today, I believe we see the sun. Your excursion seems refreshing!

Oh what a fantastic outing ... so many gorgeous tulips remind me of visiting Holland as a girl when my dad was stationed in Germany ... the tulip festival was amazing and something I remember to this day

we are having a gorgeous spring here in the Wash DC area ...
I will be posting about some amazing wisteria that we enjoyed over the weekend like nothing we'd ever seen before

Love those old barns ... all of your photos have such great stories to tell Kimmie

It's been a long while since I visited, dear Kimmie, and I'm sorry for that--because you are the pause that refreshes and your words slow my thoughts down to a reflective quietude. Your images lift my heart and my spirit. Thank you for all your sharing.

I praise God for the creative gifts He has endowed you with and your joy at sharing them with all of us.
