stitching with pliers

 ... for real ...

sometimes it's just too much work to get that needle through several thicknesses of fabric
and paper can be especially uncooperative
(it has no weave to part a path for the needle-eye & thread)

... so I use pliers ...

is that what all the fuss was about?
... there's more ...
these sweet things needed pliers too:

it's a serious dose of fun color

just in case spring hasn't burst out in all her full operatic diva glory
(a little something to tide you over)

ingredients:
can lids
bottle caps
wire
bamboo skewer
... ta-da ...

Cute metal work. I've used pliers before because I don't use a thimble and sometimes, like you said, the piece is just too contrary.

ah yes, I should have thought that was what you meant!! LOL

Those flowers look very familiar. :) Using a can lid for the back is a neat idea. Would definitely help stabilize them... Mine tend to be more "flower shaped" as in dipped in the middle.
They are so fun regardless of exactly how they are made!!
Love the colors you used as well.

I do believe you because I have used my jeweler pliers to pull more than one stubborn needle through my works. Carry on Lady!!! Peace, Mary Helen Fernandez Stewart

your colorful flowers are a certain pop of springtime enthusiasm...and yes, I use my pliers all the time...for all sorts of odd things...isn't that the crux of creativity?!

Those flowers are absolutely adorable! Such a great way to upcycle all those tossed bottle caps. I would think that the work of sewing and pulling with pliers would be time consuming but I'm sure you've got it down to a science now. :) Best wishes for a great day. Tammy

Oh wow! These I have to try!!! (Only one snag ... we never have any bottle tops in this house that aren't brown.)

These are so fun and so gorgeous and you are just so clever. I usually try to avoid pliers; if I have to use them it usually means something has gone wrong and something has got stuck or wedged somewhere it shouldn't be, but you use them to create beauty. Love your style. xx
