a real tea party

in all this time of having a "tea post" on tuesdays
I don't think I've ever had a real tea party to share with you!

I'm in a weekly quilting group
and before we break for the summer, we wanted to get together just for fun

we had "high tea" with scones, finger sandwiches and special desserts

above is the flower shaped scone with lemon curd
and below: the three tiers of treats

it was so much fun
we just sipped tea
nibbled
gabbed
giggled
shopped
and hugged our goodbyes on the sidewalk

do you have a treasured gaggle of geese in your life?

One should always have a "treasured gaggle"- and yes, thankfully, I do!!
What a lovely tea- I would be so tempted to stuff the leftovers- if there were nay- into my purse- or possibly, in a more civilized fashion - request a doggie bag!!! LOL
Drop by for tea, if you get a chance.........

Once again, I'm so sorry I haven't been around these last few days. I've missed SO much.

I've only had high tea once, which is weird, since my Grandmother, a confirmed coffee drinker who got me drinking coffee to disguise the taste of milk, had tea every afternoon at 4. She never missed it. After all, she was 100% British!

I don't seem to have a gaggle, but I have always wanted one. One of these days, at least I hope! That is, if I get off the computer enough to find one.

Today I'm honoring one of your previous tea posts with:

Looks like it was a lovely tea party... The treats look delicious! Unfortunately, few of my friends drink tea... So I usually enjoy it alone and in the quiet... which is nice too!

I went once in Minneapolis to a fancy tea shoppe with a girlfriend and it was quite a treat! I lost my gaggle when I moved up here to Fargo-Moorhead in 1999.
I have that same tea strainer. But not the pretty cups they have there. Looks like a great time. :)

Ooooh lovely !! I so wish I could have joined you, it looks wonderful, delicious treats and beautiful photos. yes I have a "gaggle" of friends but same old story....too busy. Must address this poor excuse for not getting together for "tea". xx

No gaggle here but I'd love one! My daughter was invited to a "craft night" with a new friend and I was so jealous. I'm happy you have these live in the skin friends.

I drink tea in the morning..before coffee - but it is always nice to have morning or afternoon tea with cake. High tea is the ultimate - especially for a cake lover like me. I will have at least one sandwich - just to be healthy:)
Your photographs are beautiful - and very tempting!

Pretty tea photos Kim :) yes, I have a couple of gaggles, but we seldom just get together for high tea...mostly crafty events.
