the front porch

my front porch gets morning sun and draws me out there like a magnet
and believe it or not, sunshine is abundant here once summer arrives

I added this sun catcher yesterday

I made it using some of the beach glass from my "jackpot" beach glass day

it's tied with fishing line and is in a protected enough spot that it won't crash around

(it is glass after all)

and catches the sun beautifully

don't worry, I'll show you more pictures of the curiosities I have on my porch
(I'm saving it for another post)

Love the sun catcher! Love the porch! It's brutal hot here... and it's not even the hottest part of the country! Saturday I helped a friend work in his yard and suffered heat exhaustion... 2 days later and I still feel dehydrated and burned up... Plus my ac went out in my car!

Oh your porch is adorable... What is it about front porches that are so welcoming. I have been in Tacoma with grandkids in 91F weather at the zoo. I know your weather is funky! xox

I love porches and I don't have one. I do have a balcony that I enjoy around October -- when it cools off!!! LOVE the sun catcher.

Oooh pretty. We only have shells at our beach. My sister gave me a had full of beach class from Japan that I keep in an antique canning jar in my window over my drafting table. I think sea glass is so beautiful.

your porche is lovely! That summer sun and your proximity to the beach makes me a bit jealous! Greetings from the southern hemisphere in a sunny winter day :)

Your porch is beautiful....very inviting, I could definitely sit a while with you and talk art, craft, tea and Australian football. Nothing like having a warm, sheltered sunny spot somewhere in your yard to escape to. I'm on the search for winter sun at the moment ...it's freezing here ( well, not by your standards) and I move around the house following the sun, when it's out, to get warm. Love what you have done with your beautiful glass. xx

You've warmed the cockles of heart with your post on this grey wet day.

I love to peek into peoples living spaces, even their outdoor ones. It is nice to see how others live, I think. I like what you've done with your see glass. I am thinking of doing the same but with the small treasures of shells that we gathered from the beaches of St. Augustine. Looking forward to more of your porch!
