color combination

here's the color combination I used for my peeling paint backgrounds

thanks for all the great feedback

now I'm stumped for what to put on them

I don't want to cover them up too much

maybe a transfer technique

or stamped tissue paper

I'm open to suggestions :)

Oohhh, transfer is on my list next-I'm gonna try packing tape and I have a bottle of something that says it is the BEST for transfers, we will see.Just waiting for your next post.

That's the problem with making such lovely backgrounds. I simply don't want to cover them. They are too much fun.

I'm not sure how well a transfer will work on this. I only say that because I have some transparencies that I stamped on and tried to add them to various patterned or painted backgrounds. The backgrounds didn't allow the images to show well. With both light and dark in your background, you may have trouble finding something that shows well over both colors.

Well, I'm waiting to see what you do with yours, because I did one last night that finally seems to have worked out well, and I have NO idea what to add to it...the pressure is on, I'm looking to you for inspiration!

Kimmie...your creativity and colors are always spot on. That effect and those colors would go great in my place...i think i'm going to have to experiment with it!

When I saw this luscious background today, I immediately thought of nature and branches. Wouldn't it be lovely to attach a small piece of branch with a hanging tag or some sort of embellishment attached!?!? Can't wait to see what you do, Kimmie! Hugs, Terri xoxo

Glad I'm not the only one to struggle with the 'top bit'! My backgrounds #2 seem more successful (this time I actually followed the instructions) and so I'm at the 'now what?' stage too. I think I'm just going to have to try and use it just like any other background, and tease the viewer with glimpses of the peeled paint. Good luck, x

I think these look wonderful. I think a stamp or a photocopy of a window would look really neat on these. Maybe a quote on white paper to contrast with the background.
