It took almost a year ...

... to finish this pillowcase edging:

.... here they are hanging out on the clothesline yesterday.

... and here the are pressed, folded and ready to mail as a wedding gift for my cousin :)

The pattern is called love braid.
It's a knitted lace
- which even thought it was an easy pattern -
it took forever for me to finish.
How do you spell
p r o c r a s t i n a t e ?

Happy Monday :)

  9. These are so so lovely. I would treasure these if I were the new bride. It is so rare to see handmade crocheted pillow cases anymore.

  10. Kimmie--This is indeed a lost art. I remember when I first met B's grandmother. She told me to open her dresser drawer and pick out anything that I wanted. I still have some of the pillow slips that she had given me although they are really thin now and I won't use them. I should actually take the edging off of them and sew it onto new pillow slips so that I could use them and pass them down. I think hers were crocheted, not knitted. You do great work, Kimmie. Procrastination or not: the receiver of the gift will surely appreciate them. I know that I would!
