we made organic strawberry jam on this one fine day

(6 lbs yielded 12 jars of varying sizes)

most of it will be for my sister's family who all love their p.b. & j.'s

(not my kids - can you believe it? - I grew up on it - and you probably did too)

the dishes are done,

everyone is home,

and the youngest one says, "Mom, come see the hummingbirds outside the window"

I missed the hummingbirds

but it's 6:52 pm

and I can say it has been one fine day

(and the moods are cascading up and down)

in spite of that it has been one fine day

(this morning sometime)

I'm almost finished with my daughter's quilt

and it's been one fine day for working on THAT

(a work in progress since 2010)

and I even had time for tea

five girl cousins swinging their hearts out

and my fraud problems are now being deftly resolved 

partly in thanks to a kind woman named Constance

(I am thankful for the kindness of strangers on this one fine day)
