except
in my case
"work" is always play
a lovely and sweet commenter sent me these amazing skeleton leaves
(all the way from Florida!)
the kindness of strangers never ceases to amaze me
it is because of inspiration like this that my work becomes play
beautiful found objects:
smooth stones
miracle leaves
rusted metal found in a creek bed

special thanks to Bridget in Florida
a gift in return is my humble thanks for your thoughtfulness
that is my work for today
:)

Did you iron the leaves? They are quite beautiful.
ReplyDeleteI'm with Lynn. It looks like you either ironed the leaves, or stuck them in a book (my personal preference).
ReplyDeleteI had to laugh at Island time. It's a good thing I was late this morning, too. I think nearly everyone beat me to tea.
Although those skeleton leaves are truly AWESOME, you had my heart thumping when I saw that rusty metal. One of my obsessions, of course! I can't wait to see what you do with yours. I'm sure you know that I use mine to dye/rust fabric!
Got excited and forgot to add my tea link:

Lovely art supplies! No worries about being late... Time time is all day around here!
ReplyDeleteHazy, lazy days of summer. Sweet gift as well. Looking forward to your new creations.
ReplyDeleteLovely! What can be better than 'playing work' or Island Time? I can live with that! I really must get my tea act together...
ReplyDeleteThose skeleton leaves are absolutely amazing. They must be fragile -- however did they make it through the mail? Years ago, my aunt in Ohio actually sent me Fall leaves to Kuwait by mail. I wonder where that envelope is. I really should do something to display them rather than having them stuck away. The image of the jar of rusted metal; the smooth stones; the skeleton leaves; and the green seen through the window are all so very pretty. I look forward to seeing what you create. Have a great day. Tammy
ReplyDeleteI wish I was on island time as I sit here freezing my butt off in the dark winter morning... for a brief time your photos warmed me up and transported me to a warm light place full of interesting bits and pieces... which is a rather nice way to start the day...xx
ReplyDeletemy tea post is here...
