I'm sitting at my Mac this morning going over yesterday's pics
(Newman's Own Royal Tea and a biscuit with two jams)
I love taking pictures with my camera
... but what I love even more than that ...
is fixing them in iPhoto
I almost always have to straighten them:
I crop them to get out any stuff in the background that I don't want:
I fix the exposure so the colors really pop:
adjust the contrast and the sharpness to bring out details:
smile :) at the fun day we had:
adjust the color :
(this tunnel picture was really pink for some reason)
and sometimes just breathe a big "ahhhh" when something simple came out so amazing:
*
where were we?
we had a picnic at Gold Creek Pond off I-90 at Snoqualmie Pass
and explored Iron Horse State Park and the historic Snoqualmie Train Tunnel (all in the same area)
it was a beautiful sunny day up there (3000 feet)
a very overcast day at home (sea level)
sometimes it's a change in altitude for the better weather
although I'm always game for a change in latitude instead (Maui for one)
Beautiful photos... It's so lovely up there...
ReplyDeletefun to learn some of the magic behind your wonderful photos Kimmie...I really must get better acquainted with spiffing up my pics!
ReplyDeleteyour day looks splendid...being out in nature is my favorite thing
we are having a few really gorgeous low humidity days to end up July...ahhh

p.s. changes in attitudes...changes in latitudes...you've got me singing :)
I must need one of those photo correctors, because even when I use Photoshop, I don't get the results I want. Of course, a better camera might help (grin).
ReplyDeleteBTW, I just read your comment and loved how you used that same tea can in a pinwheel recently. Loved it.
My tea post in case anyone else needs it:

Fantastic place, enjoy your views too! I love iphoto as well, so simple yet so amazing. xox
ReplyDeleteBeautiful photos!
ReplyDeleteWonderful photos enhanced with the help of your expertise. The plants in the last pic almost look like geeky birdy creatures! Thanks for sharing a great day.

Now I have Jimmy Buffet singing "changes in latitude, changes in attitude" in my head. Not a bad thing. :) Looks like a great day!
ReplyDeleteFirst of all, LOVE THE DAISIES! They are my favorite flower. You are doing some beautiful things with the iPhoto! Your photos are FABULOUS!!! It looks like you all had a wonderful day. Thanks for sharing it with us.

I love playing with photos...almost as much as painting, but not quite.
ReplyDelete:)
Your photos are lovely! Now I am hungry for some jam toast. :)
So very pretty. I'm like you..we must have one leg shorter or our head on crooked because my photos are often times as well. :)
ReplyDeleteMissed tea...was at the chiropractor.
Lovely photos Kim. Looks like a fun time too. I love my Mac and iPhoto too!
ReplyDeleteThose photos are beyond gorgeous... glad you have to adjust them a little though... would be totally intimidated if they came out of the camera looking so perfect!!!! I think we need to visit your neck of the woods one day... happy Tea day

Lovely photos beautifully edited; and the inside of that tunnel looking out looks like being inside a loaf of bread to me.
ReplyDeleteSpeaking of bread that real bisquit with jam looks delicious too!
So beautiful -- all of it, most of all your girls.
ReplyDeleteI feel so overwhelmed by photography in general -- love taking the photos but very intimidated by the technology that you seem to have harnessed so effectively!
Your photos are always amazing, and I enjoy very much your "outings" with your kids ( I'm missing mine badly at the moment, one OS and the other interstate ). Happy Tuesday Tea to You. xx
ReplyDeleteLooks like it was an absolutely glorious summer day. Beautiful images of a lovely outing. Wishing you a great rest of the week. Tammy
ReplyDeleteYou take some amazing photos Kimmie even without the aid of a tweak!
ReplyDeleteI always love to visit your place because I know I'm in for a visual treat.
That looks a wonderful place to sit and enjoy nature...recharging the batteries for sure. :D
Enjoy your weekend whatever you get up to! x
I too love my camera and then adjusting the images as needed. Yours look beautiful!
