slingshot

this is a piece I made this week



it started as an homage to summertime



... but as I work, other thoughts mingle ...
like daughter's reading assignment, "All Summer in a Day" by Ray Bradbury



and Steve Jobs reaching for the sky



and Amanda Knox wanting to lay down in a field of grass




ingredients:
bottle label
mat board
shell buttons
hand printed flour sack fabric
dictionary page
calico fabric
reading primer text
embroidery floss
straight pins
watercolor paper
watercolor paint

    I really LOVE your hand stitching. It speaks to me. I also love the composition of this piece. So many beautiful layers went together to make this a one-of-a-kind true work of art. And the message you conveyed as you made this piece is so poignant.
