piffle's recipe

piffle is my great aunt eleanor,
from whom all the vaudeville days memorabilia came from
(see THIS post)



included in all of the valentines and fan mail, was a little recipe book
I made the bread pudding
and my family loved it



we had it for breakfast
the only thing I changed was using a sliced baguette instead of 5 slices of bread

    Oooooh it looks yum, and your close up photos are wonderful. Only 5 ingredients........we have a similar 'old fashioned' dish my mum used to make called bread and butter pudding. You butter the bread first and scatter sultanas or raisins over the bread before pouring on the egg milk mix. An oldie but definitely a goodie. xx

    that's so cool--the name Piffle. what a family your come from!! I love bread pudding and this sounds delicious. I have an old cookbook my gram used and it was stuffed with hand written recipes on scraps of paper.

    Yum! I love bread pudding. There is a version made here that is called UmAli. Delish!

    We just returned from a 10-day trip to Nepal. We have to go far and wide to see mountains and you have them right in your own backyard. Wonderful!

    looks yummy. I don't usually like bread pudding because it seems they always put too much stuff in it like raisens or rum or other oddities. Your's sounds like how it should be, simple and delicious.
