the medallion is made from 2 pie tins (one large and one small)
the center is made from bottle caps I collected from the local taco shop
they sell lots of glass bottle drinks to go with their tacos
there's a bottle opener at the cash register and a big bin to catch all the caps
they were very kind to let me take a big bag full of caps home with my taco
this next medallion is made from a giant olive can that was a Christmas present last year
this is only half of the can ... and 2 more pie tins ... the other half of the can is another kitschy piece of garden art I will show you in my next post
the cool thing about these metal pieces is that over time they will get beautifully rusted

I love your garden art! I used to collect olive oil cans and display them all around my kitchen above the cabinets. There was a can of Popeye spinach up there too, because whoever heard of olive oil without Popeye? If only I had been clever like you and made some garden art of those cans instead of pitching them when we remodeled? You're such an inspiration!
LOVE your art. I made flags like that but only one layer for grand kids and a friend for July 4th. Excited to see the bottle tops as am planning to use some on the quilt I just started. Did you just punch a nail in to make the hole?
