painted rock

I painted this rock today
(it was the heart shaped one that I picked up at the beach on Whidbey Island a few weeks ago)
in the end I decided it wasn't a heart, but a bird
I have seen hand painted rocks (like Geninne's),
and after many attempts,
I think I have come up with my very own stylized bird
I feel good about it because I am honesly inspired by other artists
but I also did not want to copy
I had one of those kind of breakthroughs that is so energizing
now I just want to paint lots of rocks
... and I know you get what I mean
;)

Beautiful bird ! Perfectly painted......he has a smug sort of expression which says "thank you for giving me life". xx

a wonderful interpretation. yes, all your own. part of his feather looks like a fern. it's fun the way you turned the heart into a bird!

I love this...so inspiring, and you made it such a lovely bird. Painting on rocks reminds me of my next door neighbor when I was just a kid, because she did this, and I always thought it was so cool!

I was just holding one of the zen doodled rocks you sent me last year in our tea cup swap...it's round and I {heart} it very much

Happy June and I do not think you can keep your originality out of whatever you create no matter what are inspires you!
