image transfer

I watched a
and learned that successful image transfer needs:
goo,
heat,
or
solvent.

In the video, she uses "goo" in the form of metallic paint.
I've already got a painted surface
and I don't want to hide it,
so I used a clear goo.
Typically, I think Golden Gel Medium would be a 1st choice,
but I haven't got any.
I used Mod Podge.
I know it's not a very cool or trendy material to use,
but it's cheap and it's what I've got.

I'm so happy with how it turned out!!!

  1. Well it might not be cool or trendy, but Mod Podge is on my crafting table too! (My Golden went gloopy very quickly and was too expensive to replace...). Anyway, what great results with your image transfer, it goes so well over your wonderful background. I must look up Claudine on YouTube, sounds useful. x

  3. I've never gotten a successful transfer and have tried any # of methods. As I have two of Claudine's books, i most likely have tried the video method but will check it out. Yours is wonderful.

  6. Kimmie, your image transfer is the perfect addition to your peeled paint background! Brilliant idea. Thanks for the link to Claudine's video. To be honest, every time I've tried a transfer - and I think I've tried them all - I've been sorely disappointed. I'm with Jean - packing tape seems to work the best for me! Hugs, Terri xoxo

  7. Wow! I love this! Came out terrific!
I really enjoy doing transfers. I've done them with gel medium (Golden's or Liquitex), paint, adhesive caulk. I have Mod Podge, but never thought of trying that!

  9. I'm totally impressed. I felt the tape transfer would be lost in the lovely background, but I was wrong. This is super. What a great piece. As for the Mod Podge, I am not necessarily a fan, but I AM a fan of using what I have on hand. Way to go!

  11. Great use for that beautiful paper you created last week. I've only recently started using Golden Gel medium. I've used modge podge for years and have had great results with it and so have you!

  12. Mod Podge may not be trendy or expensive but it is surprisingly wonderful for lots of things. Great sealer for painted paper clay too.
