... and while you're looking up,
beware of the mistletoe,
which is a year round Christmas decoration in my house.
On the off chance that someone has a kiss to share :)

do you have any decorations that stay up all year?
either purposefully
or
entirely by accident?
I always keep the last Christmas card as well.
I tuck it into the mirror at my front door.
this year it's from my cousin who got married in 2010
..... ahhhhh .....
love
and
mistletoe

  1. No I don't, but that's a great idea. Love the "last card" idea. We have tons of mistletoe in the trees around here. I haven't picked any in years. It's about time I guess. thanks for tea today. Enjoyed it.

  3. What a fun upside down post today. Gotta love it, as well as the photography. It's a great way to start the new year.

Like you, I keep mistletoe up all year long. It's been over my craft room door for about six years. I figure one of these days someone will stand in the doorway long enough and actually see it. So far, no one has.

Happy first Tea Tuesday of 2011.

  4. I love the mistletoe idea although I get plenty of kisses without it so not sure it is needed LOL! I'm always so glad to take all the Christmas stuff down and start fresh.

  5. perfectly charming and imaginative T post dear Kimmie = Love it ALL!

I just returned from a brisk walk and took a pic or two of mistletoe growing in the tops of the trees (if memory serves...I believe oaks are their fav haunts in this area)

When the leaves fall I always get a thrill seeing the mistletoe revealed again...

  6. I love that you intentionally leave a couple of things up all year. I usually find a few things as soon as my husband gets all the boxes put away. This year it was the stockings and refrigerator magnets.

  7. I have so many things out on a regular basis that sometimes finding the Christmas decor amongst it all is like a scavenger hunt. Quite often, I do find Christmas months after the fact. :) Happy day to you! Tammy

  9. I don't really think of our Chanukah Menorah as decoration, but more of a functional part of the holiday...can't do Chanukah with out something in which to light the candles...and I do keep it out all year long as a Jewish symbol/decrative art piece in our home. I also have an array of smaller menorahs and other Chanukah things (a music box, platter, candy dish, etc.) that are shown off in a curio cabinet in our living room behind glass doors all year long...my "collection". So in a way I guess the answer to your question is actually YES!

  13. Happy New Year and Happy Tuesday Tea as well. Love the idea of "year round mistletoe"...... I don't know if we have mistletoe here in Australia, I guess we would have something similar but it has never been a Christmas tradition here. Love your upside-down post, I feel a little tops-turvey myself after all the celebrations and partying, time to balance myself again...nice cup of tea would be a good start, cheers xx

  14. I do have a candle holder with little red birds and pine cones that stays on top of the China hutch all year. Love your year-round mistletoe!

  15. This year I have left some decorations up, they are more "wintry" than Christmasy. I am off to investigate Tea on Tuesdays ... to become a tea connoisseur is one of my resolutions this year. I wrote about it this week on visionandverb.
