no,
I didn't drink all this beer and now I'll go make a quilt
but I do plan on make a bottle cap quilt like THIS one
first I pounded them out
(to simulate a car running over them)
and then I'll purposefully rust them
(to simulate weathering all summer on the pavement)
next time you go for a walk around the neighborhood,
you may just find some genuinely flattened and rusted bottle caps
.... one of my MOST favorite things to find and collect ....
they're like landlocked seashells in my view
and if you find them and don't LOVE them
send them to me
seriously
:)
clever. i'll keep my eyes peeled but this is the boonies and i'd be more likely to find shot gun shells on the ground. well, come to think of it shot gun shells and beer kinda go together dont they? smile.
ReplyDeleteI have a whole bag of these I plan to use for something! I got them when I saw a wait person drop some into a paper bag hanging in the visable kitchen of a resturant we were dining at. I asked what they save them for and asked if I could have some and later if I could ALL of them and she gave them to me.
ReplyDeleteI look forward to see how you quilt yours.
i like what you "see" and look forward to the finished piece..
ReplyDeletevery cool idea Kimmie, love your last one and can't wait to see it finished!
ReplyDeleteGreat idea Kimmie. I LOVE stamping on bottle tops !
ReplyDeleteMy Grandmother used to rumage through public dustbins looking for can ring pulls as my cousin used to link them together & make belts. My grandmother looked like a Bag Lady & I used to groan " Oh no she's at it again ! "
I love the flattened, rusted ones too! My neighbor always laughs at me when I stop and pick up some random piece of rusty junk on our walks. "Now what could you possibly do with that?" To which I reply...not sure yet but it'll come in handy one day.
ReplyDeleteThat's such a neat idea!
ReplyDeleteWhat a cool idea, Kimmie! I'm looking forward to the finished piece :-)
ReplyDeleteHave a wonderful upcoming weekend!

I have collected bottle caps for a couple of years now and even have my granddaughter finding them for me. She always finds the best ones too! I haven't figured out what I am going to do with mine yest but I saw a really great bracelet this week on our ride in the Sierras where this woman made it out of the pull tabs from soda cans. Maybe I could think of something in that vein to do. Love your quilt idea! Very cool!
