carve your own


I saw this technique over on Annette Quirke's blog a few weeks ago and knew it was something I HAD to do! She has an amazing collection of her own carved stamps - and they're so colorful from much loving use - they look like candy.

This is what I needed to give it a try. I already had the Speedball cutter - and the erasers were found in the stationery department of my grocery store. Gotta love that! Geninne's Art Blog has a great tutorial if you're interested in trying it too!

    Can't find your e-mail, so I will contact you here. Hey, I'm really behind on your blog. Great slippers you made.
    I used to belong to that spinners guild when I lived and worked in SnoCo. They usually don't like to pay for fiber! They like the free stuff that they can wash and comb and spin themselves. I find it's the same in most guilds, but I will be a St. Distaff's Day in Everett in January, and hope to see everyone there.

    Lovely idea, Kimmie. I should try it. When I was younger, I remember working forever on a linocut scene using the same principles... I should try it again..

    Awesome stamps you've carved. I bought the stuff to do it but haven't been brave enough to come up with a patter and to start cutting.
