This was some happy mail that came with a gentle suggestion of a tea and inchie "pay it forward" project ...
Here are 20 inchies I made with the happy mail ....
Now the question is what to do with them ....
You see, there is a particular kind of comfort and joy that comes with a handful of inchies to spill out and look at just for the wanting to. There seems to be no apparent purpose to inchies - but the happiness factor they impart in a quiet moment makes "no apparent purpose" a poor judgement of these humble one inch gems.
Do you know anyone who needs a handful of inchies to cheer them up (maybe even you)? I would like to pay them (and some special teas) forward ....
If I get a lot of responses to this post, I'll put names in a hat, pray, and draw a name :)

Call on me, me! I don't know why, but they are just so intriguingly happy to me. I'm so not crafty but ever since I stumbled upon your website, they fascinate me. I love your pay it forward and will do so, anyway!

Although I would treasure your inchies for the beautiful art that they are....I have been so blessed with blog giveaways lately that I don't want to be considered for receipt of them. I can always look at your blog when I need a fix!

ReplyDeleteKimmie, I love what you did with the project. I won't put my name in the hat, not because I don't love your work; as I do, but because I'd get more pleasure out of seeing someone else get it. I hope the teas were good- I meant to put in two different teas.
ReplyDeleteDiane - the teas are delicious - I'm using and re-using them until the tea water is becoming quite pale :) The red tea was my favourite!

I know that your pay it forward thingie is well over, but I still would love to play. I am just now coming out of a very, very long creative funk and I am getting my feet wet a toe at a time!! Inchies and tea seem to be just the right thing. Please play along with me!! I have also been a silent reader of your blog for some time. "Red Wagons" have a special place in my life---I'll tell you about that when I get to know you better.

Kimmie, First of all I love your blog! And, I especially love your art! I made my first inchies about two months ago, they were halloween inchies(I'm always a "day" late) and I used rub-ons and I really liked how they turned out. But, the reason I am writing is, I find inchies fascinating and I love the ones I see, but where do you get the tiny images, do people photocopy images to fit the inchie? Sue
ReplyDeletewell Sue - I get a lot of inspiration from packaging and paper scraps - just like what you see in the top picture. Once you start making inchies, you'll look at things you would normally throw away in a whole new light.
